Reading the article, tells me that, by default, only 5 concurrent ICA sessions are possible through the NetScaler. To enable the fix, install the Citrix Receiver for Windows LTSR Cumulative Update 5 or a later version. I did some more research on the internet and found the following article. Every time I wasn’t able to login, there were 5 concurrent users already connected with the NetScaler. While browsing through the NetScaler I noticed one thing. I was able to login with that STA server, but after a while I wasn’t able to login and received the Protocol Driver Error again. I decided to go back to basic and just added one STA to the Virtual Server and the STA service group used by the Web Interface. I checked the configuration of the firewall, but this wasn’t the problem either. I have been deleting, adding and modifying multiple STA’s to the configuration of the NetScaler without any luck. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting this issue and focused on the STA configuration. This error message is mostly related to a wrong configuration of the Security Ticket Authorities (STA’s).

And we’ve all been felt the same need at least once: how do I get those print drivers out there without breaking everything Sure, XenApp 6. But every Citrix admin out there has ran into issues with printers and printer drivers at one point or another. Contact your help desk with the following information: Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. Printers and printer drivers aren’t an exiting technology as the latest HDX Features in XenApp 7.12 and so on. I know xenapp is deprecated and its now replaced with virtual desktop/app.

Ideally, Im wanting to replace our 2012r2 VMS with server2019/2022 (or windows 10/11 Not sure at this point) and upgrade Citrix to a newer version. Today I have been troubleshooting a Citrix NetScaler configuration, where some clients received the Protocol Driver Error message when executing a published application. When attempting to launch an application after changing the static IP address of the XenApp server hosting the application, the following error message appears: Unable to launch your application. Have a ADC on the DMZ for external citrix connections and using UPM configured via GPO for profile management.
